Soma 350mg is a brand name of Carisoprodol prescribed as muscle relaxing pain killer, also branded as Vanadom. Soma 350mg is used along with Physiotherapy in the treatment of skeletal muscle conditions such as injury or acute muscular pain. Patient is advised to take the medicine strictly according to the prescription and not as and when required basis. Soma 350mg is generally prescribed for short period not more than 3 Weeks.
Usage and Dosage
Soma 350mg is a doctor prescribed analgesic used in musculoskeletal pain treatment in patients above 18 years. This medicine is given for short period, maximum 2 to 3 weeks as the muscular pain treatment does not last longer than 2-3 weeks.
The recommended prescription for Soma 350mg is 350mg every 6 hours including bedtime and maximum duration for taking the medicine is 3 weeks.
Do’s and Don’ts
Soma 350mg should not be prescribed to the patients having history of genetic enzyme disorder because Carisoprodol can cause skin inflammation or effects on nervous system. Soma 350mg is partial narcotic analgesic and hence need to be taken with utmost care as it is addictive to nervous system. Carisoprodol can cause adverse effects on reflexes and mind as it controls the pain sensations receptors of brain and spinal cord.
Soma 350mg is not prescribed to the patients with history of problems related to liver, kidneys, seziures and during pregnancy and breast feeding. Carisoprodol can pass on to the new born infants through breast feeds.
Soma 350mg is prescribed to the patients along with continues physiotherapy and physical exercises as medicine is just to suppress the muscular pain after the therapy or exercise.
Overdose of Carisoprodol is poisonous and immediate medical attention is required to the patient. Drinking alcohol or any kind of drugs are strictly prohibited during Soma 350mg treatment as it may lead to fatal side effects to mind and nervous system.
